Called to Act: 5 Uncomplicated Disciplines for Men

If you are a man who feels that spiritual growth is at times frustrating—you are not alone! Most men find spiritual growth over complicated, but it doesn’t need to be that way. Leave the ranks of the hesitant and join a movement of men.

Message from Our Pastor Regarding Coronavirus COVID-19

Dear New Life Family,

This is a time of new and different opportunities for us as believers in Christ;  a time where limitations have been placed on the size of our gatherings; times where we recognize that we might have taken fellowship for granted in the past.  Who would’ve ever thought that for a temporary season we might not be able to gather together as we have been so accustomed to? This calls for a purposeful initiation on our part to stay in fellowship with one another.  None of us were ever meant to be an island. We should never forsake the assembling of ourselves together as it says in Hebrews 10:25. I know the context of what was written was different than what we face at this time in America and around the world, but the principle has not changed.  We must initiate in smaller venues and in our private life the spiritual commitment and discipline to connect with one another. Social networking is a wonderful tool to be able to do that; however, the face-to-face meetings can never be replaced by what we can do online. I encourage you, through social networking, phone calls, and the use of your devices, by texting and other apps, to connect with one another.  Also, reach outside of just your friendship group. Please make conscious efforts to include someone who is a newer believer in Christ or someone newer to church. They need to know they are thought of and cared for with sincere actions.

The five core principles of a healthy church are: worship/prayer, teaching, evangelism, acts of service, and fellowship.  A few of these core principles happen very naturally when we gather together at church or at a small group study.  However, when our getting together is hindered by a social mandate, for a cause that is justifiable, these core principles must become part of a conscious faith effort to remain a healthy body of Christ.  Furthermore, we must sense the urgency in unprecedented times like this to be an example and influence upon our world. May the grace that you and I enjoy through Christ’s sacrifice for us, be evident in our sacrifice for the benefit of others.  In so doing, we will look more like our Master.

May God keep you, protect you, and anoint you for such a time as this!

Your Friend and Pastor,
Randy Williamson
